D-Day Heritage Tour

D-Day – 6th June 1944 – The landing of the Allied troops the assault phase of operation Overlord, was launched this day. The objective was to create an Allied bridgehead in Normandy. From there the expeditionary corps would liberate Western Europe. The sequence of events that followed form a significant part of WW2 history and during this tour, you follow in the footsteps of British, American and Canadian Soldiers. Places of interest to be visited include: Pegasus Bridge; Bayeux D Day Museum and Cemetery; Pont Du Hoc memorial bunkers; Omaha Beach visitor centre and US Cemetery at St Laurent; Arromanches (site of the mulberry harbours); and Juno Beach Visitor Centre.
Some places of interest will carry an additional entry fee and these will be listed when 2019 prices are available.
This 3 day 2 night tour is accompanied by an experienced Shorncliffe Trust Guide.
Travel is by Coach /Eurotunnel. Accommodation on a Bed and Breakfast Basis at the Campanile Hotel, Bayeaux
